What is in a HIP?

Part 5 of the Housing Act 2004 requires a person marketing a residential property to have a Home Information Pack (“a HIP”) prepared before marketing begins.

A HIP must contain the following:

• An Index





• An Energy Performance Certificate





• The Sales Statement





• Evidence of Title





• A Local Search





• Optional Items

The majority of HIPs are likely to be provided in computer form.
